Breakfast was at 8, we had it together with our group who then took off with the tour guide to get back to Halong City by boat. We exchanged contact information and said our goodbyes. Couple from Holland is moving to the same direction as I am so I might see them in a few days.
I packed my little back bag and headed over to the beach number 2 :) I was basically the first one there :D Oh it was nice :D Like a paradise again! Sun was roasting me though and the sea did not bring any comfort either as the water was warm and it had no cooling effect of any sort. As the morning proceeded the sand would get too hot to walk on. So all my attempts to get to the water were fast running :) After getting in and out couple of times I saw a jellyfish :( All of the sudden the water did not seem that tempting anymore :( Waaaa. Also I did not manage to stay in the sun for more than 1,5 hours - the heat is just killing over here. So I dragged my expensive chair (they made me buy a ticket for the chair) into the shade and enjoyed the beach from there :) Shade was nice. But I still could not handle the heat for too long - managed to stay on the beach almost 4 hours and then I escaped into my air conditioned hotel room. Oh the heat is unbearable here and the sea is too warm as well. It definitely was enjoyable and great, but can't do it more than few hours at a time. Paradise is great - just a bit too warm ;)
As this is my lazy day then I was not too worried with doing things. Last days have been busy enough so I'm just chilling here :) Later will find a nice place to eat dinner and then will pack and get to bed early hopefully. Perhaps take even a bath before going to bed :D
For tomorrow I got a boat ticket directly from Cat Ba island to Haiphong - the boat leaves at 5:30 in the morning and will take about 3 hours. I'll try to look around Haiphong tomorrow the whole day and then move on to Ninh Binh to spend 2 to 3 days there before returning to Hanoi before my departure home.

seems like a real holiday has begun for now! Chilling and relaxing on beach, what a pleasure!! And i completely agree with you that it is a paradise there, far in the East, but it is too hot. Even the water is too hot :)(typical Estonian, am i not?!)
Now, when you´re travelling alone, i can also notice that you are writing here more about people whom you meet. Logical, makes one to chat more with other people. And that´s always nice. There are so many wonderful people in the world!

yeah, I'm meeting lots of people now.. i don't know if this is just better situation or are we simply more open when alone... no idea, but the crowd on the road is great :)
in general there are more backpackers in vietnam, as i'm hearing lots didn't go to china because of the overly strict visa application, makes sense
... but i have definitely arrived in a paradise :) halong bay was sooo incredibly nice.

Kas ja kuidas saab võrrelda Peruu(mäed, kanjonid, troopilised vihmametsad) loodust Vietnamiga? Kumb maa on vapustavam sinu jaoks ja miks?
kusjuures väga huvitav, et sa küsid võrdlust peruuga.. ma ise just tegin Sapa´s võrdlust endamisi.
mulle ei olnud Sapa mäed väga suur uus emotsioon kuna see oli olemuselt sarnane sellega, mis ma Peruus nägin. olemuselt selles mõttes, et samamoodi on väike linnake mägedes (peruus siis cusco) ja selle läheduses elavad kohalikud mägirahvad ja tegelevad oma eluga vanaviisi edasi - teevad kõike käsitsi (värvivad taimedega materjali, teevad ise kangast jne.), peavad loomi ja elavad muldpõrandaga hüttides. mäed olid peruus võimsamad isegi. samas oli Sapa ikkagi ilus ja riisi põlde ma pole varem näinud
nüüd aga see, mis ma halong bays nägin... no see oli ikka vapustav... peruus oli selline vee värk ja ujuvad saared Lake Titicaca´l ... aga no siin need veest kerkivad kaljud...wow.. ikka väga võimas värk.
kui aga maid võrrelda... siis.. no hetkel ma ütleks, et peruu nagu meeldis rohkem. see aasia värk on ikka väga harjumatu ja keeruline. turistina on tore muidugi vaadata ja kogeda... aga kui oleks valida, et kuhu tagasi minna.. siis kindlasti on peruu kaugelt eespool :) ma ei saa öelda, et mulle siin ei meeldi, siin on ka tore ja lõbus aga võrdluses peruuga on minu isiklik eelistus peruu.

kohalike ujumise kohta ei teagi väga öelda, mina olen neid küll ujumas näinud jah. no ujuda nad väga ei oska aga muidu on veega sõbrad küll. üleeile nägin kuidas üks paat ühe kohaliku käest põgenes.. selline päris suur paat oli noh ühe suurema jahi mõõtu vähemalt... mees ise oli parve peal ja hoidis paati nöörist, kui paat liikuma hakkas (ma ei saanudki aru kuidas aga mootor igaljuhul töötas) siis ta vaeseke proovis paadi ruttu kinni siduda aga paat tõmbas nööri loomulikult katki ja siis vaene tegelane püüdis paadile järgi ujuda - koera :) .... oh päris naljakas oli... aga seal oli suhteliselt tihe paadi liiklus.. oi kus hakkasid signaalid tööle... uh uh... aga paat sõitis suure kaarega ja pööras lõpuks parve poole tagasi
kohalikega suhtlus on siin Vietnamis käkitegu võrreldes Hiinaga... mina olen neile aga arvatavasti siiski rahakoti kujuga ;)
